HOW TO WAX OAK CHURCH FURNITURE
Keeping your church furniture in top shape is simple and straightforward, but it’s a crucial step. Waxing protects the wood’s grain as well as preserving the surface finish. Wax not only protects the wood’s grain but also makes it more resistant to cracking, preserving the finish in top condition.
Here are the steps required for waxing your oak furniture:
1. Make sure you have the appropriate materials, a wax brush or cloth is preferable but avoid using a material with a lot of fibers. Check the directions from the wax company you are using if you’re unsure.
2. Make sure the surface is free of dust or other particles before applying the material, to ensure a smooth finish.
3. It’s always a smart idea to test a wax before using it on your pews, to ensure the quality of the finish and to get used to applying it. You can do this on a part of the furniture that is not visible to others.
4. Use a circular motion and even pressure when applying the wax. If there are any light scratches or marks, press a little harder to allow the polish to soak in
